Searching Online
InstaGrok was foreign to me prior to experimenting with the mindtool. It is a great way to search for relevant information and to present a visualization of the research assembled:
About InstaGrok
One of the early lessons about Internet searches involved an open spreadsheet that required searching for the answers to specific questions about various species of dinosaurs:
DinoDatabase
Similar to the dinosaur database, an intentional search was conducted:

All of these tools can all be valuable for the learner who is researching information on topics related to a lesson or course.
Spreadsheets/Databases
Related to the Internet search is a mindtool for assembling data in usable forms and for utilizing formulae for arriving at/prediciting mathematical outcomes.
A simple, but effective, employment of the database is a brief review of theories. Unlike a complete review of literatrure, the review allows us to see who the theorists are/were, and what the theory posits, and the relationship(s) between and among those theories:
Theory Review
A simple example of the formulae available in a spreadsheet that can help predict a future outcome is illustrated by the prediction of a freed ballon climbing toward space:

Visualization
One of the unique Mindtools utililzed in my studies was Webspiration (which I now use in the classes I teach). Webspiration is a tool for visualization of the links between and among topics that have been searched on the web or researched through other sources.

Another example of visual expression was a project using "Paint" online:

Spreadsheets are also a form of visualization that present a model of accummulated data. A brief theory review was also influced in this category:
Theory Review
All of these mindtools can be utilized separately or in conjunction to help the learned to research, visualize, and understand what the lesson is and to better achieve a positive outcome.
